After struggling in high school to maintain a passable GPA, Grotesque attended a university in Chicago and Rock Island to play football. After his first two seasons were cut short, due to season ending injuries, he decided it was time to come to terms with reality with his passion for a career in football. Grotesque hung up his cleats, dropped out of classes, and turned to his musical hobby to pass time. He bought a USB microphone, Cakewalk recording software, and spent the majority of his time inside his $100 bedroom ‘studio’. After working on his own music for three years, while also studying successful artists to see what seperated them from the pack, he realized his musical talent was vastly improving and getting better than many artists he was hearing on the radio and internet. This is when he decided it was time to turn his hobby into his career.
Grotesque has been described as ‘dope’, ‘creative’, ‘lifting’, and ‘inspiring’. He strives to be the best he can be both in and out of the booth. His competitive nature drives him to be the best at what he does. If you’re looking for Grotesque he will more than likely be in his studio crafting his skills to push his musical talents to the limit. He has thanked his parents, fans, and close friends for their support and encouragement and for helping him display his multiple talents. He has set sail on a life long journey to make a lasting impression on the hip hop world.
